My story
My journey began as a first-generation college student with no clue about work and careers.
- High achieving student? Check!
- All the accolades? Check!
- Faith-filled, mission-focused mindset?Ā Check, check and check!
But now what?
Armed with just the knowledge that I loved all things international, my heart beats for helping people, and being a mom was my top priority, I started down a winding path of trial and error discovering the work I was meant to do and figuring out how to do it in the ways that worked for me.
I figured out the secret to having deep fulfillment in my work (I can help you discover this too, my friend!). And I became a student of the future of work and job market trends.
After coaching hundreds ofĀ smart professionals andĀ world-class graduate students, I got tired of seeing these high-capacity, mission-driven professionals stumble when it came to advancing to higher levels of leadership or earning what theyā€™re worth.
I was frustrated that so many talented people with the integrity and vision to make a real difference in the world were getting side-lined from higher level positions. Stuck in jobs that didnā€™t even begin to tap their full potential.
Can you relate to this struggle?
If so, you’re in the right place.
Testimonials
Because of my work with Melissa, I feel more powerful and impactful in everything that I do.
I learned to focus my energy on what matters most, increase my confidence so I’m consistently performing at a higher level. And, not surprisingly, I was promoted to lead the creation of a new department at my organization as a result.

Outside of work
My first and most important ‘clients’ have been my 3 (now adult) kids who I am proud to say are successfully building careers and lives they love!
They sometimes joke that they were the only kids in school who had resumes in 6th grade!
When I’m not talking or reading about career development or the future of work, I am usually out hiking, doing yoga, traveling, or ballroom dancing with my husband of 33 years.
